Optimizing Pension Governance: A Client Journey with Rhonda Moon and NGUKPS Trustee Executive

In our podcast on Investment Governance my colleague and managing partner Bart Heenk interviews Rhonda Moon on her client journey on how we supported her in optimising the governance and effectiveness of the NGUKPS Trustee Executive Limited , one of the largest pension schemes in the UK.

In 2023 and early 2024 we've had the pleasure to engage with over 80 pension fund trustees and directors in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Switserland the UK.

They are facing many similar challenges varying from choosing the best end game strategy in the UK to dealing with political uncertainty such as the discussion around the new pension law (WTP) in the Netherlands.

Determining the organisation's strategy and managing change consumes a lot of time. The workload increases even more with new risks such as cybersecurity (DORA) on the horizon, and integrating new ESG related ambitions in the investment policies (including additional reporting requirements - ESRS) ,

At the same time the normal course of business continues:
pensions need to be paid in time, investments need to be managed, stakeholders and clients need to be informed about what's going on and last but not least the end customers (the pension beneficiaries) are still expecting a solid pension product at a reasonable price.

At Avida we take a holistic approach in optimising and benchmarking pension organisations, all the way from internal board room effectiveness to getting the best service from external providers such as the fiduciaries, OCIO's, investment advisors, administrators, custodians, communication experts and others.
